Evolving regulations and demands make responsible sourcing vital

Complex global supply chains can make managing product compliance and labor practices a challenge – but a strong responsible sourcing program can protect your reputation and relationships.

Maybe you handle responsible sourcing internally, but your capacity to keep up with regulations is limited. Or maybe you’ve outsourced different tasks, but a changing landscape means you need a better solution. There is a way to keep up with your compliance obligations, see what’s on the horizon, and create a responsible sourcing strategy that works. From targeted support to complete program management, we can offer a customized approach that addresses your compliance needs and goals.

With the right responsible sourcing support, you can stay on top of the markets

Responsible sourcing strategy can be overwhelming. Our team can help you create a plan that’s pragmatic and practical.

It’s challenging to stay on top of the global regulatory landscape and key trends in responsible sourcing. We can help you create and implement a plan that meets the demands of your stakeholders and fits within your organization’s budget.

By combining detailed insights with innovative technology, we can offer a level of customization beyond what you might expect, helping you find efficiencies along the way.

Our listed offerings cover the major areas where we help – but we don’t stop there. Using our diversified regulatory experience and the capabilities of our global firm, our team can help with many other responsible sourcing and supply chain needs.

Ways we can help

Conflict and extended minerals

Our team can offer customizable advisory and outsourced services around conflict minerals compliance, program management, employee training, and reporting, following the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development’s five-step framework for risk-based due diligence in the mineral supply chain.

We don’t just monitor the regulations and market closely. We participate in industry groups and offer insights that highlight best practices.

We also can help with supply chain due diligence and extended minerals due diligence outside the scope of Section 1502 (such as cobalt, mica, and other conflict minerals). Our proprietary Crowe Conflict Minerals Tracker® solution even offers the option to outsource some of your conflict minerals management.

Anti-human trafficking

We can help you understand regulations including the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act, the U.K. Modern Slavery Act 2015, and additional mandatory human rights due diligence laws. Our team can help identify the risks you need to disclose and plan for how you’ll address those risks to showcase year-over-year improvement.

Using our deep supply chain knowledge and a pragmatic approach, we can help you consider risk factors and moral obligations while also helping you protect your profits.

As a member of the Social Responsibility Alliance, we helped develop the Slavery and Trafficking Risk Template, which is a tool companies can use to assess these risks in the supply chain.

Product chemical compliance

It can be hard to keep up with all the changing regulatory obligations surrounding chemicals used in products, chemical labeling and hazard communication, and waste disposal.

Our team can help you identify which regulations apply to your company’s products. We can also work with you (and your supply chain) to get the documentation you need to demonstrate compliance.

We have experience with a variety of regulations, including the European Union’s Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive and Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals; California Proposition 65; and the Toxic Substances Control Act of 1976, among others.

Diligence and procurement

When you think about responsible procurement, you’ll want to evaluate and report your supplier diversity information as well as your local versus global spend analyses. And if your business operates under certain European regulations, you must publicly disclose the due diligence you’ve performed for your supply chain.

Our team can help create, define, and execute responsible procurements practices, and perform supply chain due diligence. We can also help manage your reporting.

Our team can evaluate your supply chain to highlight bottleneck products, identify risks, suggest potential solutions to mitigate those risks, and locate areas that need further investigation.
