Mark A. Baer

Mark Baer assumed the role of chief executive officer of Crowe LLP in April 2021. Crowe LLP is a public accounting, consulting, and technology firm with over 4,500 professionals. Baer previously served five years as the managing partner of the firm’s audit and assurance services, leading a team of more than 1,200 audit professionals. Mark and his team were responsible for the development and execution of firm strategies tied to growth and profitability, audit quality, audit transformation, client experience, talent development and diversity, equity and inclusion.

Baer is currently a board member of Crowe Global, one of the world's leading professional services networks, and has served in several leadership roles within Crowe LLP, including the firmwide management committee, CEO advisory council, Columbus, Ohio, office managing partner, and director of Crowe Cayman Ltd. Mark is currently a member of the Crowe LLP Inclusive Excellence Council, which oversees and drives key diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies and initiatives across the firm. He is also a director of the Crowe Foundation, which aligns charitable giving with the substantial volunteer efforts of Crowe personnel, and currently sits on Manchester University’s Board of Trustees.

Mark has more than 28 years of experience working with both public and private middle-market companies, primarily in the manufacturing and distribution industry, including many with international operations. He has worked with several Securities and Exchange Commission registrants on public offerings, filings, and comfort letters, and has worked with clients in the mergers and acquisitions area. Mark is actively involved with the Center for Audit Quality on several prominent strategic initiatives, serving on the CAQ governing board. Prior to joining Crowe, Mark worked with a Big Four firm for 10 years.
