Employment of a foreigner in Slovenia

Many individuals and companies from abroad enter into the Slovenian market every day and open their business in Slovenia. We find that the establishment process is not as complicated as the employment of a foreigner in Slovenia, due to the bureaucratic wheel of obtaining single work permits managed by administrative units.
Until two years ago, a foreigner could obtain a Single work and residence permit in 2 months, but now the procedures take up to 9 months.
During the first wave of measures against covid-19 in 2020, the administrative units were practically closed and the administrative proceedings were not conducted, therefore, there are about 15,000 unresolved applications today.
