PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy governs the online information collection practices of Crowe Sakura & Co. (Crowe Sakura & Co., we, us). It outlines the types of information we gather about you the client whenever you use our Website (Site), and how we use this information.

Crowe Sakura & Co. is a Member of Crowe Global, a Swiss verein. Each Member firm of Crowe Global is a separate and independent legal entity. Crowe Sakura & Co. and its affiliates are not responsible or liable for any acts or omissions by Crowe Global or any other Member of Crowe Global.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By visiting and using the Site, you agree that the Privacy Policy governs use of the Site and issues of privacy.

How We Collect and Use Information

We may collect, store, and process personal or other information that you supply to us through use of the Site. Just as Crowe Global may contact individuals who apply to register as a Member firm, we contact those who have made inquiries.

Crowe Global and Crowe Sakura & Co. collect personal identification information from our users on Site pages. From time to time other pages may contain requests for similar information. Generally this information consists of names, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, passwords, and employment information for registration or opt-in purposes.

We also collect and store information generated automatically as you navigate the Site online. For example, we may collect information about your computer's connection to the Internet, which allows us, among other things, to improve the delivery of our Web pages and to measure traffic volume on the Site. The Site automatically recognizes and stores information about the type of browser you are, such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address, the time, date and length of your visit, and the referring site. We also use “cookies,” a standard software feature for browsing, to enhance the Site experience. Cookies are small files that your web browser places on your hard drive for record-keeping. Cookies identify how many unique users visit us, track user trends and patterns, and help display ads or other notices. They often make it unnecessary for you to re-enter preferences in certain areas of the Site if you have entered such information before. Cookies don’t expire unless you manually delete them or set your browser to reject them. If you do not accept cookies, you may have difficulty navigating the Site or find performance is slower. The Site may use web beacons (single-pixel graphic files also known as “transparent GIFs”) to access cookies and count users who visit the Site or to open HTML-formatted email messages.

The information we collect from you on the Site may be used in various ways including customizing Site features and ads. Crowe Sakura & Co. may also share information with Crowe Global and Member firms (Members). They in turn may use the information to contact you as a prospective Member, client, or business connection. Similarly, whenever Crowe Global or its Members collect information from you directly, they may share it with us. Their privacy policies regarding information use may differ from ours. If you have specific questions about the privacy policy of Crowe Global or any Member, feel free to contact Crowe Global or the Member directly.

We may provide your information to third parties such as data processors, service providers, or advertisers either to improve your experience with us, the Site, Crowe Global and its other Members, or to give you information about related products and services.

If you do not want your information used in any of the ways described here, email [email protected] and specify the manner in which you do not want your information used. Allow some time for your request to take effect.

Additionally, Crowe Sakura & Co. may disclose your information as required by law, or to the extent we believe is necessary to protect our legal interests. We reserve the right to release such information to authorities to comply with a legal process. Your information may be transferred to a third party in the event of a sale, acquisition, merger or bankruptcy involving Crowe Sakura & Co., or a Membership change in a specific jurisdiction.

The Site may include links to other websites or enable access to products and services offered by third-party sites whose privacy policies we do not control. Remember that when you access another website or purchase third-party products or services, the use of any information you provide is governed by the privacy policy for the site you visit.

Use of Google Analytics

We may use Google Analytics Advertiser Features or similar services to optimize our business message to Site visitors.

Advertiser features include:

Remarketing with Google Analytics,

Google Display Network Impression Reporting,

DoubleClick Platform Integrations, and

Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting

We are required to disclose to Site visitors that (1) Google Analytic Advertiser Features are enabled and that (2) we and third-party vendors use first-party cookies (such as Google Analytics) or other first-party identifiers, together with third-party cookies (such as DoubleClick) or other third-party identifiers, to gather data about your activities on the Site.  Among other things, identifiers allow us to contact you if you begin filling out our checkout form but are unable to complete it. The Remarketing feature lets us reach people who previously visited our Site, matching them with an appropriate ad message.

You can opt out of Google’s use of cookies by going to Google’s ad settings. And you may opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies by going to the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.

Location of Your Information

We process your personal data in the United States under applicable law. The extent to which we may transfer your data to Crowe Global, or between Members internationally, is governed by law. By agreeing to the Crowe Sakura & Co. Privacy Policy, you consent to the international collection and processing of any personal and non-personal information collected or obtained by Crowe Sakura & Co.

Storage of Your Information

Your information is stored on Crowe Sakura & Co. servers that deliver our content and messaging. Such information may not be stored for a period longer than it remains possibly useful for what it was intended. Your information is accessible only by Crowe Sakura & Co., Crowe Global, Members who subscribe to the Global Directory, and those who help manage the Member portal. Members may also store personal data.

Email Marketing and Opt-Out

In accordance with the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act (Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing Act of 2003), or similar domestic and international regulation, all commercial emails we send you will include an “unsubscribe” link. You can remove yourself at any time from our mailing list by clicking on this link.

Note that changes to your email marketing preferences may take time to take effect. If Crowe Sakura & Co. is unable to stop commercial email to you from Crowe Global or its Members immediately, you might want to take advantage of separate opt-out features provided by Crowe Global or its Members.

Your Privacy Rights

You have the right to access, transport, update, rectify, or erase personal data, as well as the right to object to or restrict its processing, transform it into anonymous form, or withdraw from any consent-based uses of it. You may exercise these rights by emailing [email protected]. You may contact local authorities in charge of data protection if you believe your privacy rights related to personal information have not been upheld.

Additionally California’s Shine the Light Law (CA Civil Code § 1798.83) allows California residents to request disclosures about any personally identifiable information we sent to third-party direct marketers in the prior calendar year. To make such a request, email [email protected] and put “Request for California Privacy” in the subject line.

When contacting us regarding your rights, you must include enough info to locate your file. At a minimum, that would be your name, email, and postal address.

We will try to provide requested information within thirty (30) days of the request. We reserve the right not to respond to requests sent more than once in a calendar year, or requests submitted to an address other than the one posted in this notice. Please note that the California Shine the Light Law does not cover all information sharing. Our disclosures may include only that information covered by law.

Crowe Sakura & Co. reserves the right to update and revise this Privacy Policy at its discretion. You can determine whether this Privacy Policy has been revised since your last visit by checking the “Effective Date of Current Policy” at the top of this page. Your use of our Site constitutes acceptance of the terms of the Privacy Policy as amended or revised by us. Try to review this Privacy Policy regularly to ensure that you are aware of its terms.
