Sotero Peralta & Asociados employs a great variety of highly-skilled professionals, with vast experience in specialized areas, capable of serving the growing necessities of our clientele, with international standards of financial information, audits, and participation in management strengthening, and country-specific, up-to-date financial and market reporting. With these objectives, our personnel participate in internally designed training seminars, conforming to the technical requirements and international standards, which are demanded by the services offered by our firm. The professional personnel of Horwath, Sotero Peralta & Asociados receive, as a minimum, 40 hours of annual training, offered to all levels of staff, as a way of developing the most important part of the firm – its human capital.

The Partners of the Firm:

  • Sotero A. Peralta: Executive Director of the firm, Mr. Peralta has more than thirty years of experience in planning and developing auditing and management consultancy projects, including many multinational engagements. In the area of research, he is an expert in studies of high management, financial planning and other specialized programs in government auditing, non-profit organizations and projects financed with international resources, such as the Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (Inter-American Development Bank (BID)), and the Agencia de Estados Unidos para el Desarrollo Internacional (United States Agency for International Development (USAID)). He graduated with a degree in accountancy from the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) and carried out studies on the stock exchange in the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM).   • José Francisco Montás: Director in the area of auditing, with more than twenty-five years of experience. He is an expert in auditing and financial consultancy, for multinational financing bodies, non-profit organizations and in the financial sector in general. He actively participates in international conferences on updating information and standards in the financial sector.   • Sarah Aguirre: Director of Market Research in the firm, with more than twenty years’ experience and a member of the American Marketing Association (AMA), and the Asociación Venezolana de Ejecutivos de Mercadeo. She has accumulated a great level of experience, both national and international, in qualitative and quantitative research, stock audits, analysis and consulting on marketing projects. She has participated in the programming, direction and coordination of national commitments and habits, attitudes and experience, image, product tests, concepts and focus groups.   • Wáscar Ramírez: Director of Auditing, with more than thirty years of experience. He is an expert in the areas of programming, control, supervision and preparation of financial statements which conform to the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs) and the International Auditing Standards (IASs). He actively participates in the programming, supervision, conclusion and revision of the auditing commitments. Mr. Ramírez was previously the quality control manager of the firm. He is a member of the Instituto de Contadores Públicos Authorizados de República Dominicana (ICPARD). He has taught as a professor at university. Email: [email protected]

  • Sergio J. Díaz: Director of valuations, he is a specialist in costs, and has more than twenty years experience in auditing construction firms, inspection of civil objects, valuing all types of tangible assets (plots of land, improvements, machinery, equipment, etc.). He is a member of the Instituto de Tasadores de la República Dominicana (ITADO), of the Unión Panamericana de Asociaciones de Valuación (UPAV), and of the Federación Internacional de Profesiones Inmobiliarias (FIABCI).   • Juan B. Díaz: Director in firm’s information technology area, with more than twenty years’ experience. He is involved with audits, consultancy, evaluations, and the design, direction and implementation of information technology projects. He graduated as an engineer from the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña, with a masters degree in management and productivity from the Universidad APEC. He also took a Diplomado Comercio Electrónico in the Universidad de Santiago de Chile. Additionally, he studied negotiation in Harvard Graduate School. He has taught as a professor at university.
