On July 18, 2017 the Finance Minister introduced major changes to the current tax system. If enacted, the proposed changes will have negative fiscal consequences for small businesses and professional corporations. We believe each individual affected by the proposals should contact their local MP or the Minister of Finance to express their opinion. The changes are significant and those affected should not be passive while the Minister completely revamps the tax laws currently in place.
There is currently a consultation period with regard to the proposed changes that ends on October 2, 2017, your opinions should be sent before the consultation period ends.
