Crowe Indonesia Holds 'Global Corporate Advisory Summit' from July 11 to 13, 2023, Here Are the Highlights

JAKARTADAILY.ID - Crowe Indonesia, a member of Crowe Global, is holding the Global Corporate Advisory Summit from Tuesday (July 11, 2023) to Thursday (July 13, 2023) in Jakarta.

One of the highlights of this event was “An Afternoon with Crowe” – a session with clients on 12th of July, where the following were shared and discussed valuation trends for start-ups, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reporting practices, both topics of which are important in the future global economy.

Gary McLoughlin, a Crowe Global expert renowned for his experience in start-up valuation, spearheaded the discussion on this subject.

Having worked with start-up clients, McLoughlin addressed the emerging challenges in valuing early-stage companies.

This topic is particularly relevant in the current 'tech winter,' characterized by the end of the 'easy money' era and sharp market corrections regarding start-up valuations.

The discussion empowered clients with innovative insights, fostering understanding of the importance of adopting revised valuation methodologies amidst the current global financial market challenges.

In the same occation, Luis Piacenza, an ESG specialist from Crowe Global known for his ESG practice around the world, led the dialogue on trends and the evolving role of ESG in the current financial reporting standard and cross-border M&A investment.

Having engaged with major clients in financial institutions (especially private equity), energy and infrastructure (for IT & mobility) sectors, Piacenza shed light on the necessity of ESG Due Diligence and corporate sustainability as integral components of business practices in the global context.

Emphasis was placed on how ESG is pivotal not only in terms of business growth but also in fostering a harmonious society and ensuring environmental sustainability.

There are more than 30 delegates from 15 countries attended the Summit this week.

They are from China, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Nepal, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, India, Mauritius, and Spain.

Moreover, prior to co-hosting ‘An Afternoon with Crowe’ session, Crowe Indonesia also welcome a delegation from CroweUnited Arab Emirates (UAE), aimed at strengthening cross-border engagement between Crowe Indonesia and Crowe UAE.

The visit was in response to the harmonious relationship between Indonesia and the UAE, particularly after the successful implementation of the G20 in 2022.
