Special Purpose Audit

Agreed-Upon Procedures

In an agreed-upon procedures engagement, Crowe TAC carries out procedures of an audit nature agreed with your company and any appropriate third parties, then reports the factual findings. The recipients of the report form their own conclusions from it.

We restrict the report to the parties that agreed to the procedures, since others, unaware of the reasons for them, may misinterpret the results. A company acquiring another business, for example, may commission such an engagement and ask the auditor to report on specific aspects of the business it is buying.

Agreed-upon procedures can also add credibility to the information you provide to third parties, such as banks, regulatory agencies, prospective investors or prospective purchasers.

We report on financial information where your company wants it checked and reported independently. Engagements can cover inspecting documents or transactions for specific characteristics, confirming specific information with third parties or comparing data to a defined standard. Agreed-upon procedures suit many situations, whether you need specific factual findings for users within your company or for third parties. An agreed-upon procedures engagement does not express assurance: users draw their own conclusions from the findings.
