On March 23, Kuala Lumpur International Airport was hit by a cyberattack that disrupted operations and led to a $10 million ransom demand, which was ultimately rejected. Although systems were restored, the incident highlights the growing threat and severe impact of ransomware, which can cause financial losses, operational downtime, and reputational harm. Strong cybersecurity measures are essential to defend against such attacks.
