Omnibus – the EU Simplification Package: Impact on Sustainability and Your Company

On February 26, 2025, the European Commission presented the Omnibus simplification package, which introduces significant changes to EU sustainability reporting requirements. In particular, the threshold for mandatory reporting under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) has been increased from 250 to 1,000 employees, excluding more than 80% of companies that were previously subject to these requirements.

However, even with these changes, large corporations will continue to require their suppliers to comply with ESG standards.
