Funding from the government SME Brexit Support Fund could be used to pay for important support

The VAT and Customs Duty considerations arising from Brexit still remain centre stage for many organisations. Many businesses have now moved out of the initial 'keep operating' phase and into a period of taking stock to determine if more strategic changes are needed to their supply chains/set-up are required.

Review your current position with a Brexit Health Check

We are pleased to offer a Brexit Health Check service to assist businesses in reviewing their current position. Operations may not be running as smoothly as expected or you may still have unanswered questions as to how you should be dealing with VAT and Customs Duty in a post-Brexit world.

£2,000 worth of SME Brexit Support Funding available

If you are eligible, a government grant from the SME Brexit Support Fund can be used to pay for this training/advice. Businesses can apply for approval of the funding in advance of undertaking a Brexit Health Check.

How would a Brexit Health Check work?

We recognise that no two businesses are the same and the Brexit Health Check review is bespoke to your organisation. The review is tailored to your needs and areas of concern, but as an example, it could include:

  • Half a day of time with an Indirect Tax specialist from Crowe. We will discuss the business and its importing and exporting activities, supply chains, processes for classifying goods and origin and importing/exporting procedures.
  • A training session, assisting your staff to complete Indirect Tax (VAT or Customs) paperwork.
  • A brief summary report for the business noting any areas of risk or opportunities along with suggestions to mitigate risk or explore any identified opportunities.
  • Access to Crowe’s extensive Brexit related materials, and wider sector materials that may be of interest.

Further information

Please get in touch with your usual VAT contact, Rob Marchant or Rob Warne if you would like to discuss the Brexit Health Check further.
