Valuation and Forensics

Shadow expert witness service

Our Forensic Accounting specialists can draw upon their depth of knowledge and experience from performing the role of single joint expert (SJE) in matrimonial proceedings, to guide you through the process and assist you with the following:

  • preparing and reviewing Form E disclosure and assisting with subsequent questionnaires.
  • drafting the terms of engagement of the SJE.
  • preparing disclosure for and replying to information requests from the SJE.
  • critiquing the SJE's report and preparing questions to be asked of the SJE.
  • critiquing the SJE's response to questions.
  • preparing questions for the SJE for cross examination at Court.
  • attendance at or being on call to provide ad-hoc advice and input as part of mediation or arbitration proceedings.

Business valuation sense check

Using our business valuation expertise, we can sense check business valuation presented by the spouse, on a Form E, or as part of a settlement offer. This can be helpful to determine whether it is worth pursuing a potentially costly and time consuming SJE valuation exercise.

Alternatively, where we act for the business owner, we can undertake business valuations for a Form E submission or as part of a settlement offer.

Spouse forensic asset tracing

Where there are doubts over whether a spouse has or will disclose all their assets to the Court, we can use international asset tracing to identify an individual's business, property and other financial interests. We can then provide reports suitable for use in court proceedings, setting out our findings.
