Virtual Trustee Essentials Course (April-May)
Providing the knowledge Trustees need to succeed

Press coverage continues to shine a light on charities, their culture and the central role of their Trustees. The impact of COVID-19 has placed huge pressure on the performance of charities and in most cases increased the need for their support. Trustees are now more than ever accountable for charities reaching their charitable objectives. COVID-19 aside, over the last few years the introduction of the Charity Governance, Fundraising, Ethical and Digital Codes, legal changes such as the automatic disqualification rules and the focus on charities’ accountability has meant it is particularly important for Trustees to keep themselves updated on their responsibilities.

Our Trustee Essentials course highlights and emphasises the key responsibilities of a charity Trustee, the important current issues for charities and what Trustees need to be focusing on now and in the future.

What we will cover

We’re delighted to be offering our popular course again virtually. Delivered by specialists in our Non Profit team, the course will retain the unique opportunity for Trustees to engage with one-another and work collaboratively. The full course has now been divided up and will take place across four consecutive Friday mornings. The four sessions will focus on:

  • Friday 15 October - Part 1: Trustee responsibilities and the board of the future.
  • Friday 22 October - Part 2: Charity accounts, effective reporting and managing reserves.
  • Friday 5 November - Part 3: Risk management as a strategic enabler for charities.
  • Friday 12 November - Part 4: Emerging issues – what’s on the horizon?

Numbers are limited to allow a forum for discussion so please register as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
