Andrew Cowan

Andrew Cowan, Head of Social Housing, Devonshires
Andrew is Head of Social Housing at Devonshires Solicitors.
He also leads the banking and governance team. His work in the sector spans nearly 25 years. He is known for anticipating change, structuring transactions and helping resolve “problem cases”. He is a regular conference speaker and has been a member of the National Housing Federation’s Finance Policy Advisory Group and is a member of the Regulator of Social Housing Advisory Panel. Andrew works for a number of the largest registered providers across England and Wales. 

Simon Hatchman Simon Hatchman, Executive Director of Finance, PA Housing
Simon is Executive Director of Finance for PA Housing. PA Housing was created in April 2017 from the merger and amalgamation of Paragon and Asra housing groups. It has over 23,000 homes based in the East Midlands, London and Surrey. Simon is a proven senior director and has a strong track record in finance and housing with over 20 years’ experience within the sector including roles with various housing associations, as a regulator, and working for a body which provides loan finance to housing associations.
Andy Howarth
Andy Howarth, Group Finance Director, Platform Housing Group
Andy is Group Finance Director of Platform Housing Group. Platform was formed in October 2018 from the merger of Waterloo Housing and Fortis Living creating one of the largest housing providers in the Midlands with over 45,000 homes. Andy is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and has worked in housing for 18 years. He also has experience in the private sector and the NHS and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing.
Kathryn Price
Kathryn Price, Executive Director of Finance, Yarlington Housing Group
Kathryn is Executive Director of Finance of Yarlington Housing Group.She is currently leading projects on Yarlington’s proposed merger with Radian Housing Group to create a partnership that will manage of 38,000 homes across the South and Southwest.She has an extensive background in the housing sector. Since 2004 she has been finance director, resource director and a consultant to housing associations across the South of England. Prior to this, Kathryn qualified as a chartered accountant with Ernst & Whinney, worked in New Zealand and has been Finance Director at Bristol Zoo.

Adam Cutler
Adam Cutler, Head of Social Housing
Adam leads Crowe’s Social Housing team. He has over 25 years’ experience of advising on property-related VAT issues and is a member of the British Property Federation’s VAT committee. For the last 19 years he has had a particular focus on VAT as it affects housing associations and is a regular contributor to Social Housing magazine. He is currently working with several housing associations to ensure their plans for substantially increased development is carried out in a tax-efficient way.

Guy Biggin
Guy Biggin, Partner
Guy is a Senior Audit Partner in our national Non Profit unit. Guy has extensive experience advising housing associations, schools, charities and other non profits. He has a particular interest in risk management and sits on the Charity Special Interest Group of the Institute of Risk Management. He is a regular speaker on non profit issues at seminars and workshops. He specialises in helping clients put best practice risk management into place.

Jim Gee
Jim Gee, Head of Forensic Services
Jim is the National Head of the Forensic Services team at Crowe and is Visiting Professor and Chair of the Centre for Forensic Studies at the University of Portsmouth. His team helps organisations to protect themselves against a variety of problems such as cybercrime, fraud, bribery and corruption;  and, where necessary, if their protection fails, to respond, manage and mitigate any damage. Jim and his team also support litigation and provide a range of valuation and expert witness services. He is also leading an initiative within Crowe to encourage innovation.
