Ensuring the quality and safety of patient care is inherent to the mission of healthcare providers. Medical errors resulting from clinical process failures, such as diagnostic errors, medical mistakes, the absence of safety nets, poorly coordinated care, and unwarranted variation in physician practice patterns, are the third leading cause of death, resulting in over 250,000 deaths per year in the U.S. alone. This session will provide an update on top clinical risks in the healthcare industry and how a clinical risk assessment can help identify, prioritize, and mitigate risks.
