Compliance efforts for protecting sensitive data can seem all-consuming to today’s companies, especially in the face of new regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation. If they act strategically, however, companies that work to mature and refine their privacy and data protection programs will benefit in the long term by being better positioned to protect personal data, intellectual property, and other confidential information.
