Becoming a Privacy Resilient Organization

10/8/2018

The regulatory environment relating to data privacy is rapidly changing as underscored by the recent European implementation of GDPR. During this session, participants will hear valuable insight about how to become a data privacy-resilient organization and be prepared to proactively manage regulatory impacts resulting from GDPR and similar regulations. Crowe thought leaders will provide a road map to help identify potential material impacts to U.S. institutions of higher education relating to data privacy. Additionally, participants will hear about the practical approach Crowe uses to execute an assessment to help uncover potential risk as well as remediation to lessen the impact in a way that is relevant to institutions of higher education in the U.S.

After participating in this session, you should be able to:

  • Explain a risk-based approach to being prepared for the ever-changing data privacy regulatory environment, using GDPR as an example
  • Identify the articles within GDPR that affect U.S. institutions of higher education
  • Review recent and pending regulation within the U.S. and globally
  • Discuss the focused approach of Crowe to help remediate identified exposures to the organizations
