Balancing 340B compliance and exploring new opportunities

| 11/14/2019

Since its inception in 1992, the 340B Drug Pricing Program has provided both opportunities and risks for healthcare providers. With increased scrutiny from legislators and drug manufacturers, as well as more comprehensive reviews of compliance practices during 340B Program integrity audits by the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) each year, it is important for organizations to have well-defined procedures and systems in place to manage risks. At the same time, the program has provided opportunities for 340B-participating healthcare entities to expand their services and patient access to needed medications, all while effectively managing costs and growing services.

Getting the most out of the 340B Program today and tomorrow requires changes to current operations. Healthcare leaders looking to maximize the program are focusing on enhanced technology and processes to improve operations and free up staff, as well as looking for new areas of operations such as “meds-to-beds” programs and owned retail pharmacies.

During this webinar, we’ll explore how internal monitoring is used to address changing compliance and risk management and how healthcare providers are making the most of the 340B Program.

By participating in this webinar, you should be able to:

  1. Assess your current internal monitoring processes for the 340B Program
  2. Identify gaps in monitoring and compliance efforts and next steps for remediation
  3. Outline new opportunities for 340B Program expansion, next steps, and communication strategies for developing a plan of action

Over the past 25-plus years of its existence, the 340B Program has allowed healthcare providers to expand the services they are able to provide.
