Our consulting team manages a range of assignments, predominantly in the central Government and public sectors with some services provided to clients in the not-for-profit and occasionally private for-profit sectors.
The successful candidate will work alongside a team of professional consultants who deliver a range of consulting projects, from long-term multi-annual consulting engagements to short-term (3 – 6 months) projects.

Key result areas
- Project manage the delivery of a range of consulting assignments from inception to final delivery, ranging from tender preparation, fact-finding and interviewing, through problem analysis and solution development, to report-writing and presentation of findings/recommendations.
- Manage the delivery of project outputs individually and by the advisory team (reports, presentations, training programmes etc.) to ensure they are delivered to the client’s satisfaction, on time and on budget to an acceptable standard of quality.
- Understanding of public funding and strong financial analysis skills.
- Proactively work with and manage, as appropriate, project teams, external consultants and other resources as required.
- Manage, as required, client liaison and business development (including drafting of proposals and tenders for projects).
- Support the business development portfolios which will comprise an agreed mix of current and new clients. Proactively pitch for new business and drive the growth of the firm.
- Manage client relationships. Maintain contact and liaise with the firm’s clients, and foster business relationships that develop the firm’s client portfolio further.
- Manage the delivery of assignments to a high standard of quality, while adhering to allotted timescales, budgets and resource allocation and presenting the assignment for completion to Partner.
- Manage, mentor and motivate the teams ensuring that constructive feedback is provided from assignments reports and fully participate in all Performance Management initiatives as required. Deliver on and off-the-job training as required.
- Proactively liaise and build effective working relationships with firm staff in all disciplines (Advisory, Tax, Company Secretarial etc.) to facilitate and support the consultancy department.
- Be fully conversant with and understand the authority levels of the role to ensure full compliance with Crowe’s policies, procedures and regulations.
Person specification
Essential knowledge & skills:
- Qualification at a minimum of NFQ level 8 (or equivalent) plus an approved accounting qualification (ACA or ACCA or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant post-qualification experience
- Demonstrable understanding and awareness of current issues within the sectors we serve
- Evidence of strong technical competence (ICT proficiency and some sector subject-matter expertise)
- Proven ability to work with a diverse range of clients across multiple sectors
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrable report writing experience
- Well-developed project management skills plus the proven ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks/ projects
- Strong commercial awareness
- Demonstrated ability to self-motivate and manage complex competing priorities and deadlines.

- People Leadership: Proven ability to listen, build rapport, influence and build relationships. Keen to develop career into a more senior management role. Proven experience in managing a small team of consultants.
