We are seeking a talented, experienced Audit Manager to join our growing audit team. The role is to manage a team of motivated and capable trainees and qualified accountants. You will work closely with an Audit Partner to deliver high-quality audit assignments for a wide and varied portfolio of clients.

Key result areas

  1. Managing a portfolio of audit and accounts clients which operate across a variety of industry sectors to ensure assignments are delivered to a high quality standard, within budget.
  2. Manage, mentor and motivate the trainees and part and fully qualified seniors ensuring that constructive feedback is provided from assignments/reports and fully participate in all Performance Management initiatives as required. Deliver on and off the job training as required.
  3. Participate and assist when required with tenders and / or fee quotes when required. Take ownership of business development opportunities assigned to you.
  4. Manage the WIP, billing, timesheets, recoverability of the portfolio, assignment scheduling, planning, staffing and structure of the team while ensuring adherence to the firms compliance and regulatory standards.
  5. Assist the partners in the provision of advice to clients and work with partners on a variety of ad-hoc projects as they arise.
  6. Manage client relationships.Contact, liaise and foster business relationships with your portfolio of clients.
  7. Participate, as required, in the department strategy.
  8. Proactively liaise and build effective working relationships with firm staff in all disciplines (Audit, Tax, Company Secretarial Corporate Finance etc.) to facilitate and support the firm.

Person specification

Essential knowledge & skills:

  • A qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with three plus years relevant practice PQE.
  • Demonstratable understanding of managing a portfolio of clients, the relevant filing deadlines and delivering same within agreed deadlines.
  • Detailed practical knowledge of FRS102, Irish GAAP and CA2014.
  • Experience of managing client communications directly.
  • Ability to lead and supervise team members.
  • Experience in using Caseware would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Excellent knowledge of Accounting and Auditing Standards and managing audit risks
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with clients and provide excellent service.
  • Ability to work on a diverse range of clients across multiple sectors.

  • Well-developed project management skills plus the proven ability to handle multiple tasks/projects at any one time in a practice environment.
