Experienced Accounting Technician

Crowe is a leading business advisory and accountancy firm, ranking among the top 10 firms in Ireland. Due to continued growth and expansion in outsourced services, we are now seeking to recruit an Experienced Accounting Technician. Crowe offers a full suite of outsourcing services to our clients.

The successful candidate will deliver valuable periodic management accounting services to a portfolio of interesting and diverse clients. Those management accounting services may include maintenance of fixed asset register, accounts receivable, banking, accounts payable, prepayments, accrued income and accrued expenses, journals for depreciation, amortisation, stock and bad debt provisioning, FX, prepayments, accruals, salary and pension (but not payroll processing) and hire purchase and leasing. The role will also include review of any material period end activity to identify any unrecorded material liabilities to ensure that sales and purchases cut off is materially accurate and assisting with budgeting and projections.

  1. Leads multiple accounts preparation assignments on behalf of clients accurately, efficiently and on time.
  2. Provide support to clients for all accounts related matters and queries.
  3. Fully understand and implement accounting practices.
  4. Excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills
  5. Liaise closely and build effective working relationships with client staff and the inhouse team to support the accounts process.
  6. Fully support all department and team activities to ensure the deadlines are met and up to date knowledge of this sector is maintained at all times.
  7. Be fully conversant and understand the authority levels of this role and those of all relevant stakeholders to ensure full compliance with the firm's policies, procedures and regulations.

Person specification

Essential Knowledge & Skills:

  • Fully qualified accounting technician with at least five years' practical experience working in roles which clearly demonstrate successful delivery in comparable roles.
  • Demonstrable understanding of accounts processes.
  • Must have strong numerical skills and proven basic Excel skills.
  • Must enjoy multitasking, dealing with a variety of project and jobs at one time.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks/projects at any one time.
