Job purpose

Crowe is a leading business advisory and accountancy firm, ranking among the top 10 firms in Ireland. 
The post holder will lead the delivery of Corporate Finance assignments and be responsible for the effective delivery of high-quality assignments to fieldwork completion and final accounts and Corporate Finance report stage, within the required timescale. The post holder will also supervise and direct junior Corporate Finance trainees during assignments.

Key result areas

  1. Assist the Corporate Finance team with the completion of all aspects of Corporate Finance engagements, including Debt / Equity Fund raising, Mergers & Acquisitions, Business Reviews and Tenders and Proposals
  2. Review financial information and prepare financial models to perform detailed analysis
  3. Prepare detailed and professional outputs for clients in a consistent form using defined Crowe templates
  4. Ensure that projects are satisfactorily completed and within agreed timescales. 
  5. Continue to observe and develop skills and knowledge in the areas of Practice Management and client relationship in full compliance with Crowe’s policies and procedures. Assist the Corporate Finance team by providing support on a range of multiple assignments concurrently and learn to ensure the most effective and efficient use of time and resources at all times. 
  6. Liaise closely and build effective working relationships with client and internal staff in other departments (e.g. Audit, Tax and Company Secretarial) to facilitate and support clients.
  7. Ensure the Partners/Directors are appropriately briefed at all times to include any issues arising on assignments, projects and tasks being undertaken and any performance problems. 
  8. Be fully conversant and understand the authority levels of this role and those of all relevant stakeholders to ensure full compliance with the firm’s policies, procedures and regulations. 
  9. Focus on job ownership and completion and efficient time recovery.
  10. Focus on chargeable time targets are met.
  11. Supervision and support of interns and training staff members.
  12. Provision of outputs to managers and partner with high degree of accuracy and having completed own checks and sign off.
  13. Quality and complete soft copy file set-up and maintenance with focus on paper light office protocol.

Person specification

Essential knowledge & skills: 

  • A qualification as an Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) 
  • Excellent MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) skills
  • Strong commercial acumen and an analytical mindset
  • Strong technical competence and detailed practical knowledge of FRS102, Irish and UK GAAP and CA2014
  • Proven ability to work on a diverse range of clients across multiple sectors
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Project Management skills plus the proven ability to handle multiple tasks/projects at any one time
