Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to work on a wide range of consulting assignments from inception to completion. It also includes assisting the partner to develop the consultancy portfolio to ensure that all projects are delivered on time and to the required standard.

Key Result Areas

  1. Involvement in consulting assignments from inception to completion, including:
    • Proposal development in response to tenders and client projects briefs;
    • Primary and secondary research and consultation (interviewing, focus groups, workshop facilitation);
    • Situation analysis and solution development;
    • Presentation of findings/recommendations; 
    • Report writing.
  2. Project planning, project portfolio management and client relationship management, ensuring agreed assignment phases are developed to the client’s satisfaction, on time and on budget. 
  3. Implementation and review of required project processes for effective implementation of strategy, marketing and evaluation projects.
  4. Report writing (including strategic plans, marketing communications / digital marketing plans, programme and project impact evaluations, feasibility studies and business plans).
  5. Implementing agreed actions from clients’ strategies, marketing communications / digital marketing plans, and business plans.
  6. Managing project teams and third parties e.g. external consultants and others as required.
  7. Monitoring market and client sector trends to identify and pursue agreed business development opportunities, including both public and private sector clients.
  8. Input into consulting service strategic plan.
  9. Liaise with Crowe’s Marketing Director in relation to the production of Consulting Department marketing materials.
  10. Liaise and network with a range of stakeholders including customers, colleagues, and partner organisations in order to grow the portfolio.

Person Specification

Essential Knowledge & Skills:

  • 3rd Level (or equivalent) degree, preferably in Business or a discipline relevant to the nature of the role. Preference will be given to those who hold a relevant Masters.   
  • 1-3 + years’ consultancy experience covering both strategic plans, strategic marketing and portfolio management. 
  • Experience working with a number of target sectors such as SME/ entrepreneurial, commercial, arts and culture, tourism, education and not for profit. 
  • Proven demonstrable report writing skills to publication standard.
  • Proven analytical skills with the ability to think strategically.
  • Proven ability to apply creative problem solving solutions to complex projects. 
  • Strong communication and presentation skills. 
  • Highly developed, demonstrated teamwork skills. 
  • Ability to multitask, work on multiple projects simultaneously and to specified deadlines.

  • Portfolio and Project Management: Proven ability to focus on performance, meet deadlines and produce high quality results.  Proven evidence of sound judgement and common sense. Must be able to compile and analyse information, confidently report and present insights gained and recommendations / actions to the client through workshops, webinars, presentations and conferences.
  • Business Development: A natural networker, takes ownership of learning, shows empathy with client needs, and seeks ways to improve. Evidence of enthusiasm and keeping abreast of developments in the consultancy sector and key client sectors.
