Associate Director - Corporate Finance

Job purpose

Crowe is a leading business advisory and accountancy firm, ranking among the top 10 firms in Ireland. The firm currently has 14 partners and over 130 staff.

The post holder will be responsible for leading and managing the completion of corporate finance engagements / projects including IBRs, transaction structuring, valuations, M&A advisory, strategic advice, debt negotiations, financial modelling, due diligence, preparation of business plans and asset management. The post holder will also supervise and direct Senior Managers, Assistant Managers, Seniors & Trainees during assignments.

Key result areas

  1. Lead the completion of corporate finance engagements / projects including IBRs, transaction structuring, valuations, M&A advisory, strategic advice, debt negotiations, financial modelling, due diligence, preparation of business plans and asset management.
  2. Proactively and reactively provide consultative advice to clients and Partners on specific projects and deliver within the agreed specified time frames.
  3. Lead and manage relevant project teams and work flow plans in order to deliver a high quality client service within the specified timescales.  
  4. Manage the completion of tenders/ fee quotes, attend client meetings, present (using PowerPoint) and maintain up to date records.
  5. Manage the all relevant client files are administered, maintained and accurately filed in line with the firm’s policies.
  6. Take ownership of own business development portfolio which will have an agreed mix of current and new clients.  Proactively pitch for new business and drive growth of the firm.
  7. Work alongside and support Partners to originate new business opportunities and proactively develop and maintain new and existing client portfolios, relationships and key intermediaries. Proactively pitch for new business and drive growth of the firm.
  8. Proactively manage WIP / Debtor Ledger in keeping with the firm’s policies.
  9. Actively participate to the department and firm strategy.  Keep abreast with the market, client, technical developments and associate bodies activities to ensure firm’s activities are aligned.
  10. Manage, mentor and motivate the teams ensuring that constructive feedback is provided from assignments reports and fully participate in all Performance Management initiatives as required. Deliver on and off the job training as required.  
  11. Be fully conversant and understand the authority levels of this role and those of all relevant stakeholders to ensure full compliance with the Firm’s policies, procedures and regulations. 

Person specification

Essential Knowledge & Skills:

  • ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification plus 5 + PQE
  • Prior knowledge of corporate finance experience in a professional practice or a corporate role in industry.
  • Highly skilled at financial analysis and financial modelling skills
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills – especially in Report Writing and PPT Presentation (these will be observed at 2nd interview stage)
  • Proven project Management skills and experience. Must enjoy managing a wide range of multiple tasks/projects at any one time.
  • Commercially savvy and astute.
