The election of President Joe Biden has raised questions within the tax space about what policies and requirements might change. And with a slim Democratic majority in Congress, there are also questions about how the Biden administration could go about achieving its tax-related objectives.
The urgent need to address the fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic and other priorities means it’s unlikely that we will see sweeping tax legislation in the first half of 2021. However, President Biden might seek to make tax policy changes in the form of new regulations and administrative action.
