Tax reform impact on insurers
Event details

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act signed into law in December 2017 has been described – quite accurately – as the most sweeping tax overhaul in more than 30 years. With change comes uncertainty, and as anticipated many organizations including insurance companies were scrambling to interpret the new guidance and searching for unknown answers to many questions.

A year later, Congress and the Treasury have issued many responses to these open questions. This webinar will attempt to summarize the guidance issued-to-date and shed some light on many of the issues still pending.

As a result of participating in this webinar, you should be able to:

  • Identify how the proposed regulations surrounding the unpaid loss reserve discounting will affect your tax position for the current year
  • Discuss how the newly issued guidance will affect your company’s year-end financial reporting and tax provisions
  • Recognize how the new guidance surrounding BEAT, GILTI, and FDII will apply to your organization
  • Explain how the general provisions affecting all companies will affect your insurance organization
