CCPA: What We Know Now and What is Coming Soon

Event details

Starting on July 1, 2020, violations of the privacy provisions of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) are subject to enforcement by the state’s attorney general. And the Californians for Consumer Privacy effort to place the California Privacy Rights Act on the November 2020 ballot brings additional uncertainty to the state’s privacy-related landscape. Do you know what could be required of your organization?

CCPA is only setting the bar for other states, which have increased their focus on data security and consumer privacy requirements. In addition, litigation attorneys are combing the internet to look for companies that do not appear to be in compliance. Now is the time to identify a strategic framework for managing consumer information that is in alignment with your company’s ethical philosophy.

By attending this webinar, you should be able to:

  • Describe current and expected requirements under CCPA as well as what may be next from states across the country
  • Identify which areas to address first to increase focus on data security and consumer protections
  • Outline next steps in three key areas:
    • Responding to consumer requests for information
    • Developing a strategic framework for managing consumer information
    • Articulating a clear and transparent privacy policy and data use policy

Both consumers and regulators are demanding more of organizations when it comes to management and oversight of the data collected by companies. Join us to learn how you can build a firm foundation that sets you and your team up for success not only today but in the years ahead.
