Recognizing our ongoing efforts to promote diversity and inclusion (D&I), Crowe has been named the winner of the 2017 Corporate Diversity Award by the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA). NABA presents this prestigious award to companies whose corporate culture promotes and encourages D&I through engagement, retention and advancement efforts. Winning companies also support and encourage the participation of their professionals in NABA volunteer and leadership roles at all levels. Through the coordinated efforts of our African American People Resource Network, Crowe has supported NABA for several years. We've been a sponsor of NABA's national and regional conferences. Several of our professionals also hold leadership roles in their local NABA chapters and Herschel Frierson (Indianapolis) serves as a NABA national director. Earlier this year, Crowe hosted a joint meeting of NABA's national board of directors and corporate advisory board in our Indianapolis North office. This gave Crowe leaders the opportunity to discuss our D&I efforts with NABA leaders, as well as get their feedback on how we can further advance D&I at Crowe. While the award is a great honor, firm leaders recognize that Crowe still has a long way to go on its D&I journey. As CEO Jim Powers (Indianapolis) shared, this is an area that remains a priority for the firm and one in which the firm still has a lot of work and everyone's help is needed.

Crowe will be recognized at an awards gala during the upcoming NABA national convention in New Orleans, La., in June. Several Crowe individuals will attend the convention and you can watch for a recap of the event in a future blog. For more about our inclusion efforts, visit our Diversity and Inclusion page.
