This Memorial Day, Crowe pays tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for their country, as well as veterans and active military personnel like Chris Whitehall (New York) who continues to defend our freedom at home and abroad. “I’ve had a close-up view of the men and women of the Armed Forces who’ve sacrificed their lives so that we can all enjoy the freedom and democracy that we cherish so much,” said Chris, a facilities coordinator at our New York office. “I joined the Navy in 2005 because I felt that I had a responsibility to protect my kids from the terrorist activities happening at the time and didn’t want to depend on someone else to take on that responsibility,” he added. In 2007, Chris was deployed to the Middle East in support of Operation Iraqi Liberation. Since 2014, Chris has worked at Crowe handling production, mailroom and supply and maintenance services. He approaches his role with the same characteristics he learned through his military experiences, including committing to teamwork and recognizing that every team member’s contributions are important to accomplishing goals. Chris continues to serve his country as a drilling specialist reservist in the Navy, reporting for his reservist position each month and annually for training. He is able to fulfill this commitment through Crowe’s military leave policy, which provides additional paid time off to fulfill his duties.
