Laura Edwards (Dallas) joined Crowe in 2011 as an Audit senior manager. When she’s not serving public and non-public clients in commercial and financial service practices, Laura is president of the Women’s Finance Exchange (WFE), a local professional networking group for women with careers supporting the financial services industry. Last fall, she organized WFE’s annual charity golf tournament, which raised more than $50,000 for the Dallas Women’s Foundation to help at-risk women and girls in the Dallas community.

Q. How has WFE supported your professional and personal development?
A. Being president has made me a stronger leader and better strategic thinker. It's a great organization for networking opportunities and the Dallas office has received referrals that have led to new engagements for audit and tax. WFE also embraces the fact that women's lives are multidimensional. The organization has made me want to help other young women be successful personally and professionally through activities like the annual charity golf tournament.

Q. What is the biggest risk you've ever taken?

A. I joined Crowe in 2011 with a specialization in oil and gas accounting. I later took a different direction with my career at Crowe and have been successful spending half my time in financial services.

Q. Where in the world would you most like to travel?
A. I lived in Spain for a few summers with a host family and remain close with them. My husband and I love Spain and named our daughter Madrid.

Q. What is your personal motto?
A. Keep calm and carry on.
