Crowe International secondments are staff exchanges between member firms that foster relationships and enhance cross-border working methods among those firms. They also provide valuable learning experiences and exposure to new cultures for the professionals who participate. Charles Raibley (San Francisco) participated in a two-year secondment at Crowe Australia in Perth. “I love to travel and experience new things, and I like getting a new perspective on the world,” said Charles. “I was also interested in learning more about how other firms operate within the Crowe International network and bring some of those best practices back to our firm.” While in Perth, Charles worked on audits across a wide variety of industries including private K-12 education, shipping/logistics, mining, construction, not-for-profit associations, manufacturing and distribution and government. “Since I’ve returned, I’ve regularly referenced my learning experiences in my professional life,” said Charles. “Professionally, I came back with a solid understanding of Australian accounting and financial reporting standards. The experience gave me perspective that I wouldn’t have otherwise had and I draw on those in how I go about interacting with my clients, our staff and others.”
