Crowe Soberman LLP is more than one of Canada’s premier independent chartered professional accounting firms. At our firm, we help our clients make smart decisions that create lasting value, and we are currently looking for a proactive, self-starter to join our Audit and Advisory team as a Manager.

Position Summary

Professional staff members in this position have at least five years’ experience in a public accounting firm. This extremely fast-paced position is responsible for various engagements and may at times be involved in multiple assignments simultaneously, responding to demanding and exacting clients. The Manager must have a thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting and Auditing Principals (GAAP and GAAS).

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Specifically, the duties of the Manager are:

  • To ensure engagements are planned in accordance with GAAS requirements
  • To provide guidance and direction to staff throughout the year
  • To review entire NTRs, reviews and audits completed by staff; to ensure that all queries and outstanding points have been resolved satisfactorily prior to review by the Partner
  • To review (and amend as necessary) the financial statements, notes, attached schedules, management letters, and any other documents to be issued to the client
  • To point out to Partner any tax planning opportunities and more efficient tax treatment where applicable
  • To perform research on complex tax and accounting issues and writing memoranda on findings
  • To review personal, corporate, trust and partnership returns

Qualifications:

Must have a minimum of:

  • Completion of CPA, CA designation
  • At least five years’ practical experience in public practice
  • Strong Canadian tax experience

  • Able to prioritize multiple assignments simultaneously

  • Comfortable making contact with clients; conscious of client relations and expectations

  • Caseware

  • MS Word, Excel, Outlook
