We are recruiting for the following opportunities in our Whitehorse office:

  • 2-4 Full-time Articling Students (January 2022 start)
  • 1-2 Full-time Articling Students (May 2022 start)
  • 1-2 Co-op/Summer Internship Students (May 2022 start)

Duties will include:

  • Prepare and/or assisting in the preparation of corporate year ends, which includes compilation, review and audit engagements;
  • Prepare corporate and personal income tax returns, including related filings and schedules;
  • Client bookkeeping and related services;
  • Special project work assignments;
  • Prepare financial statements and supporting documents;
  • Prepare corporate and personal tax returns;
  • Compilations, review engagements, and auditing;
  • Participate as part of the audit team in executing engagements for a variety of clients;
  • Perform tests of transactions and balances to verify audit assertions; and
  • Complete compilation and review engagements with limited supervision.

Requirements:

  • Self-motivated and detail-orientated team player;
  • Successfully obtained/pursuing an undergraduate degree that meets the CPA program prerequisites;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • A willingness to learn;
  • Experience in audit and public accounting considered a strong asset;
  • Excellent working knowledge of accounting standards;
  • Excellent analytical & problem solving skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Able to prioritize workloads and meet strict deadlines; and
  • Knowledge of CaseWare, CaseView, Taxprep and Sage/Quickbooks considered an asset.

Our Whitehorse team is highly trained and knowledgeable in audit and assurance, tax, consulting, and bookkeeping services. They focus on a large variety of accounting services for businesses in a variety of industries including government and municipalities, small-medium owner managed businesses, health care, not-for-profit, indigenous services and many more.
