Extension of COVID-19 government subsidies until March 2022

Due to the federal lockdown in effect since November 22nd, 2021, the following COVID-19 government subsidies have been extended until March 2022:

Default Bonus III (COVID Assistance Fund)

  • Default bonus III for the period from November 2021 to March 2022
  • in the event of a drop in turnover of at least 40 % compared to the same month of the year 2019
  • depending on the cost structure of the industry, this results in a replacement rate of 10 to 40 percent
  • cap of EUR 80,000 per month, taking into account the short-time work allowance
  • can be applied for from the 16th of the following month until the fourth following month (e.g.: a bonus for November 2021 can be applied for from 16.12.2021 until 15.03.2022)

Loss Compensation

  • Loss Compensation for the period from January to March 2022
  • in the event of a drop in turnover of at least 40% compared to the same month in the year 2019
  • results in a replacement rate of 70 to 90 percent of the losses
  • can be applied for from the beginning of 2022 (details are still open)
  • can be applied for in one or two tranches (1st tranche up to 70% of the expected loss replacement possible)

Hardship Fund for one-person businesses (EPU), micro enterprises and new founders

  • Reintroduction of the hardship fund for the period from November 2021 to March 2022
  • in the event of a drop in turnover of at least 40% or when running costs can no longer be covered
  • the replacement rate is 80% plus EUR 100 of the net loss of income
  • the minimum amount is EUR 600, the maximum EUR 2,000.

Further instruments are the NPO fund and the subsidies for events until March 2022 as well as guarantees until June 2022 and also short-time work Phase 5.

In addition, the deadline for open applications for the fixed costs grant 800.000 and for loss compensation has also been extended until 31st March 2022.
